ROLE:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the leadership team in delivering outstanding care within a well-regarded nursing home. This full-time role involves assisting in the day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high standards of care are maintained, and stepping into full management in the absence of the Home Manager.

You will play a pivotal role in leading and supervising care staff, supporting resident admissions, and maintaining up-to-date care plans. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a care home where residents are truly at the heart of the service.


About You:
We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or similar leadership role within a care or nursing home

  • Active NMC registration (essential)

  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks

  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding and adult protection referral pathways

  • Experience supervising, training, and supporting care staff

  • Ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals

  • Confidence in managing complex care needs and developing personalised care plans

  • A hands-on, proactive leadership style with a commitment to high-quality care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Home Manager in all operational and leadership duties

  • Assume full management responsibility in the absence of the Home Manager

  • Supervise and mentor care staff to ensure best practices are followed

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain high standards of care

  • Lead on safeguarding processes and uphold adult protection procedures

  • Conduct and contribute to resident pre-admission assessments

  • Keep care plans and daily records updated and accurate

  • Promote effective communication with residents, families, and external agencies

  • Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement efforts

Experience:

  • Deputy or senior role in a care or nursing home: 1 year (required)

  • Supervising care staff: 1 year (required)


Licences / Certifications:

  • NMC Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) – Essential

  • Safeguarding training – Preferred

  • Management qualification – Preferred

  • Driving Licence – Preferred
