Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Manager to support the operational delivery of high-quality residential care within a well-established and award-winning care home provider. This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Home Manager to ensure the safe, effective, and person-centred delivery of care in line with regulatory standards and organisational values.
In this key role, you will assist in overseeing day-to-day operations, maintaining quality and compliance, and supporting the development of a positive and high-performing care team. You will play a vital role in safeguarding residents, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring the home operates efficiently and effectively at all times.
About You:
We are looking for a confident, supportive leader who is:
• An experienced Deputy Manager or senior care professional within a residential care setting
• Knowledgeable in CQC standards, safeguarding, and care quality requirements
• A hands-on leader with the ability to step up in the Manager’s absence
• Skilled in leading, mentoring, and developing care teams
• Able to build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
• Compassionate, person-centred, and committed to delivering outstanding care
• Organised, proactive, and attentive to detail
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Home Manager in the day-to-day running of the care home
• Provide leadership and direction to care staff, nurses, and support teams
• Step into the Manager’s role in their absence and take on delegated responsibilities
• Ensure high standards of care in line with individual care plans and best practice
• Monitor resident wellbeing and adjust care plans where required
• Promote a person-centred approach that respects dignity, choice, and independence
• Supervise, train, and support staff, including performance management and development
• Lead on safeguarding concerns and act as a key point of contact when required
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate records relating to care, compliance, and staff training
• Support medication management and safe administration processes
• Encourage a positive, respectful, and collaborative working environment
Education and Qualification:
• Previous experience as a Deputy Home Manager or similar leadership role
• Relevant health and social care qualifications are desirable
• Ongoing commitment to training and professional development
