Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Deputy Home Manager to support the day-to-day running of a well-established residential care home. Working closely with the Home Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with CQC standards.
This is an opportunity to join a values-driven care provider committed to the wellbeing of its residents, staff development, and continuous service improvement. You will lead by example, support and mentor care teams, and take full operational responsibility in the absence of the Home Manager.
The successful candidate will be a qualified nurse with a passion for care excellence and a proven ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others.
About You:
We are looking for a confident and capable leader who is:
An experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Nurse within a care home or nursing home environment
A NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) with a strong clinical background
Skilled in supervising, mentoring, and developing care staff
Knowledgeable of CQC regulations, safeguarding pathways, and care governance
Passionate about delivering safe, person-centred, and dignified care
Competent in care planning, medication management, and clinical oversight
Able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and external professionals
Confident in handling pre-admission assessments and risk management
Calm under pressure, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
Committed to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Home Manager in the overall running of the home
Provide leadership and guidance to the care and nursing team
Take full management responsibility in the absence of the Home Manager
Oversee care delivery, ensuring safe and effective clinical practices
Supervise and support staff through training, mentoring, and role modelling
Conduct pre-admission assessments and contribute to care planning
Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and risk assessments
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and clinical governance standards
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and external professionals
Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence
