The Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead a solo EBD residential service in Torquay. In this highly impactful role, you will provide strong leadership, ensure exceptional standards of care, and create a nurturing, therapeutic home for a young person who needs safety, stability, and consistent support.

You will oversee all aspects of the home’s daily operations, including staff development, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, and the delivery of high-quality care plans. With the full support of our clients Clinical and Operations teams, you will have the tools, flexibility, and autonomy to shape the home around the needs of the child and build a strong, resilient team culture. The expectation is that the home is rated at least “Good” by Ofsted.

About You
You will be someone who:

  • Is passionate about transforming the lives of young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Has at least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory position within the last 5 years.
  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Children’s Residential Care (essential).
  • Holds, or is willing to enrol within 6 months on, the Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare qualification.
  • Has strong knowledge of childcare legislation, The Quality Standards, SCCIF and regulatory requirements.
  • Understands trauma-informed practice and the needs of children with EBD, including how to manage challenging behaviour safely and therapeutically.
  • Can lead, support, and develop a high-performing and stable staff team.
  • Is confident in planning, organising, budgeting, and overseeing safe and effective service delivery.
  • Is committed to promoting the wellbeing, voice, and rights of young people.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
