Are you a childcare centred Registered Manager looking for a new challenge?
We are currently looking for an experienced and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a new 5-bed children’s home in Birmingham, focussed on supporting young people with Learning Difficulties. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a hardworking team of childcare professionals and lead and take ownership of the opening of a home.
The Role:
- Ensuring the home meets the children’s home regulations and the Ofsted Quality standards and ensuring a high level of compliance against these standards.
- Lead the whole staff team in ensuring a service that delivers exceptional care and support and that creates and delivers positive outcomes for the young people.
- To prepare for, and attend annual reviews and meetings, and ensure actions are completed.
- To monitor arrangements for any holidays, recreational outings and social activities with the children and young people and to ensure the implementation of related risk assessments.
- To ensure that there are regular stimulating and meaningful activities for young people to engage in which reflect their personal interests and preferences and that these are further developed into new opportunities and experiences.
- To be responsible and accountable for the homes Statement of Purpose and that this is appropriate to the needs of children and young people. Ensure that this is reviewed regularly and remains relevant and current.
- To ensure at all times that professional ethics and behaviour are demonstrated by all adults and that adults are supported and coached in actively engaging with young people.
About you
Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards)
- Full UK Driving License and own vehicle
Experience
- Experience working with children and young people, in a childcare LD focussed residential setting.
- A “Good” or “Outstanding” grade within your recent OFSTED Inspections
Experienced within a managerial role and proven knowledge / experience of OFSTED registration process
Experience in the managing and recruitment of a team within childcare residential - Committed to the wellbeing of young people and the ability to apply this to the smooth running of the home
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, especially with children and young people
- Thorough understanding of the regulatory and legislative frameworks, including Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
- Excellent leadership and management capabilities
- Proficiency in budget management and service planning
