Hamptons are proud to be partnered with one of the leading Children’s Services providers in the UK to support them in seeking a Registered Manager to join a successful service rated Good by Ofsted. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced, dedicated, children’s residential professional to join a successful, supportive organisation with a mission of changing the lives of young people in need.
Role Overview:
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and running of the home, ensuring a safe, encouraging and proactive environment for the young people in your care and the employees in your team. The home is rated Good in all areas with OFSTED and has an excellent reputation with the local authorities. The home supports young people who have autism, epilepsy and/or can display some associated behaviours. Many of our children (not all) are non-verbal or have limited communication and will communicate with us through different methods such as picture boards, Smartbox devices and Makaton.
Role Duties:
- Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Develop a great team: Working with the recruitment teams support, bring in the right people for your home. Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
- Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
- Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan.
- Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with the quality standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
- Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
- Embrace a safe culture: Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
Essential Requirements and Experience:
- Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.
- At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential, Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
- Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
- Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
- Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence required.
