Job Title: Registered Manager – 2-Bed Children’s Home
Location: Wigan
We are seeking a passionate and values-driven Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed children’s home in Wigan. Whether you’re an experienced manager or a confident Deputy ready for your next step, this is your opportunity to create a nurturing, trauma-informed environment where vulnerable children can begin to heal and thrive.
There is also the opportunity for future dual registration of a second 2-bed home, with increased responsibility and a salary uplift to match.
About the Role
As the Registered Manager, you will:
Lead and inspire your team to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care to children with complex needs.
Ensure compliance with all Ofsted regulations and work towards achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” ratings.
Build a homely, stable and safe environment tailored to each child’s individual needs.
Oversee safeguarding practices, care planning and placement stability to support positive outcomes.
Work closely with an experienced and supportive Responsible Individual who offers personalised mentoring.
Develop and grow into a dual-registration role, with scope to oversee a second 2-bed home.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Have at least 2 years’ experience working in a residential children’s home within the last 5 years.
Have a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
Hold a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (Children and Young People).
Hold (or be working towards) a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, safeguarding practices, and relevant children’s legislation.
Be an inspiring leader with excellent communication and team-building skills.
Hold a full UK driving licence.
Be eligible to work in the UK (due to regulatory requirements).
Salary & Benefits
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per year (inclusive of bonuses and benefits)
