An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children’s Registered Manager to lead a brand-new EBD children’s home based in Rainham.
This is a fantastic chance to take ownership of a newly established service, shaping its culture, standards, and outcomes from the ground up. You will play a key role in building a high-quality, therapeutic environment for children and young people, ensuring the delivery of safe, consistent, and person-centred care in line with Ofsted regulations and best practice.
The role:
- Provide overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards, consistently working towards ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ outcomes.
- Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring robust safeguarding systems are in place and all concerns, incidents, and notifications (including Reg 40) are managed effectively.
- Lead and develop a high-performing staff team through effective supervision, performance management.
- Drive continuous improvement through quality assurance processes, audits, and action planning in response to Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44 reports.
- Oversee the development and delivery of individualised care plans, ensuring positive outcomes for children.
- Take full responsibility for referrals, occupancy, and risk matching to ensure safe, appropriate, and sustainable placements.
- Manage the operational and financial performance of the home, including budget oversight and resource allocation.
About you:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working within children's residential in a similar management role.
- Proven experience managing Ofsted registration processes and leading services through inspections.
- Demonstrable experience in budget management and effective allocation of resources.
- Relevant certifications, including Paediatric First Aid and Fire Warden training would be desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
What's on offer:
- Salary up to £65,000 per annum.
- Annual performance based bonus up to 10%.
- Earn up to £2,500 for successful referrals, paid upon the placement and sustained enrolment of a child.
- 7 weeks' annual leave including bank holidays.
- Long-term incentive scheme offering up to 30% bonus, rewarding continued length of service and commitment.
