We are looking for x2 Senior Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a brand new, 2 bed EBD focussed home based in Lytham St Annes. My client are an organisation who are committed and excited to be creating a unique, therapeutic environment for the young people that are going to occupy the home, and would love to share this opportunity for 2 experienced childcare professionals to join their vision.
Overview of the role:
- Working with the young people under the direction of the Registered Manager to create positive, trusting relationships with them. Ensuring you and the rest of the team are operating in a way which puts the young peoples wellbeing and safeguarding at the forefront.
- Plan, and lead shifts managing resources and meetings young peoples needs.
- Take part and organise activities in and outside of the home, supporting them to learn, develop, have fun, and achieve and celebrating this with them.
- Develop care plans to meet emotional, social, and behavioural needs. Help with behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
- Recognise risk on a daily basis ensuring you take appropriate steps to minimise potential harm and support staff to set boundaries with the children.
- Transport children safely-either in your own car or on public transport-as required.
- Complete online records as required. Complete handwritten records as required.
- Provide supervision for care staff and deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.
- Upkeep and maintenance of the home, cleanliness, fire safety checks, etc…
What is needed to be the right candidate for the role:
- Clean, full UK driving licence is desirable.
- Experience supporting children and a compassionate, mindful approach to young people and your important role in their day-to-day life
- Experience in the development of care plans and associated documentation.
- Flexibility for shift patterns and sleep ins.
- QCF L3 / NVQ in Children & Young People’s Social Care
- Eligibility / right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
