We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated Deputy Manager to join our Children’s Residential Care team in Nuneaton. This role involves supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a 3-bed children’s SEMH home, ensuring high-quality care and support for young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of the children, while guiding and supporting your team to deliver outstanding care.

The Role:

As the Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Registered Manager with all aspects of the home’s operations, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted standards, and company policies.

Taking responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring consistency and high standards of care.

Leading, mentoring, and supervising the staff team, promoting a positive, supportive, and high-performing culture.

Overseeing day-to-day operations, including rota management, staff deployment, and effective resource allocation.

Ensuring the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of young people, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.

Working collaboratively with external professionals (social workers, educators, healthcare providers) to ensure holistic support for each young person.

Leading on safeguarding practices and risk management, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.

Driving a culture of continuous improvement through reflective practice, training, and team development.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

A QCF Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards).

At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role (Team Leader, Senior Residential Support Worker, or Deputy Manager) within a children’s residential home.

Strong working knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding policies, and relevant childcare legislation.

A genuine passion for improving the lives of young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team.

A full UK driving licence (with at least 2 years’ driving experience).
