About the Role
Our client are looking for a Deputy Manager to join a specialist residential care team supporting children and young people from diverse backgrounds. You will play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where young people can develop life skills, achieve their potential, and thrive.
In this role, you will:
Support children and young people to achieve their best outcomes.
Assist with the day-to-day running of the home alongside the Registered Manager.
Lead and support the staff team, delegating duties and ensuring high standards of care.
Help maintain compliance with legislation and regulations.
Foster a positive culture and professional practice within the home.
Participate in rota management, occasional sleep-ins, and on-call duties.
You will act as a role model for young people and staff, demonstrating professionalism, strong communication, and effective leadership in a homely, non-judgmental environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care or NVQ Level 4 in Children, Young People & Family Practitioner.
Experience working in residential childcare settings, supporting children with social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with young people, colleagues, and external professionals.
Flexibility to work across a 7-day rota, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
Commitment to safeguarding, equality, anti-discriminatory practice, and child protection legislation.
You will demonstrate professionalism at all times, both in appearance and behavior, and act as a positive role model to both staff and young people.
