We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to join a dedicated team in Manchester. You’ll play a key leadership role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a newly refurbished 2- and 4-bed therapeutic children’s home, working with young people aged 8–17 who present with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), complex trauma, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).

The Role:
As Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the Registered Manager in the leadership, management, and day-to-day running of the home.
Delivering and maintaining high standards of trauma-informed care, aligned with therapeutic models such as PACE and DDP.
Supervising and developing a team of dedicated care professionals to provide consistent, nurturing support to young people.
Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, safeguarding protocols, and regulatory compliance.
Supporting with referral matching and leading impact risk assessments to ensure safe and suitable placements.
Taking an active role in Regulation 40, 44, and 45 processes and Ofsted readiness.
Leading on recruitment, inductions, performance reviews, and staff training initiatives.
Championing the voice of the child in decision-making and planning.
Contributing to the continuous improvement and strategic growth of the service.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Working towards or completion of a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children’s Residential).
At least 1 year of experience in a Deputy Manager or Team Leader role within a children’s residential care setting.
A sound understanding of Ofsted SCCIF, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and safeguarding frameworks.
Experience supporting young people with EBD, trauma, and complex emotional needs.
Leadership capability and a commitment to staff development and reflective practice.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
Desirable:
Social Work qualification or relevant degree.
First Aid and additional care certifications.
Experience supporting or leading through Ofsted inspections.
