We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager for a 3-bed children's home in Oxton, Merseyside. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £40,000 per annum and presents a rewarding opportunity to support the Home Manager in delivering high-quality care to children and young people.
The Role:
As the Deputy Manager, your responsibilities will include:
– Supervising and managing the care team to ensure high standards and compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted standards.
– Assisting with the recruitment, training, and continuous development of staff.
– Ensuring the emotional, physical, and psychological well-being of the children through trauma-informed and child-centred practices.
– Supporting the management of rotas, budgets, and resources for efficient care delivery.
– Prioritizing safeguarding across all aspects of care and practice.
– Collaborating with external agencies such as social workers, educational professionals, and healthcare providers.
– Creating and maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for children to thrive.
– Helping drive continuous improvement to achieve and maintain ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
– A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
– A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior residential childcare role.
– Strong leadership and organisational skills.
– A thorough understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations and safeguarding legislation.
– A compassionate and resilient approach to supporting young people with complex emotional needs.
– Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
– Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and young people.
