Hamptons are working in partnership with an established, passionate children’s residential care provider who are looking for a Deputy Manager to join their team assist in the running of one of their 3 bed, EBD focussed homes.
The Role: Deputy Manager
- To assist the manager to manage the Home to the highest professional standards and take responsibility for the day to day running of the home, including the welfare of the young people and overseeing staff
- To ensure that the provision of care to Residents is in line with National Standards
- To ensures that the Home and in particular the services it provides, are well recognised, particularly within the local community, and those who have, or may have an impact upon the level of occupancy, such as social workers , etc.
- To participate in personal development activities which ensure currency of knowledge and skills in the management of care of Residents and any specialties offered by the Home.
- To provide input to the Home Manager’s development plan with SMART (Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic and Time bound) objectives, covering all present and planned services.
About You:
- Proven experience working within residential childcare and at a more senior level, and a clear passion / commitment for the welfare of young people.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- A recognized Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent (or working towards this).
- Excellent knowledge & understanding of The Children’s home regulations, National Minimum Standards, Every Child Matters, & the Children Act
- Experience working with young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Able to effectively apply leadership skills and show enthusiasm for the running of the home
