Ready for your next step? We're looking for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a specialist Children’s Residential Home, helping to deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for young people.
The Role
As Deputy Manager in our clients Children’s Residential Home, you’ll support the Home Manager in leading the day-to-day running of the service and deputise in their absence. You’ll help create a safe, supportive, and child-focused environment while ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading shifts and supporting staff deployment and rotas
Supervising, mentoring, and inducting team members
Ensuring safeguarding, compliance, and care standards are met
Contributing to care planning, risk assessments, and reviews
Monitoring progress, records, and report writing
Supporting quality assurance and administrative processes
Participating in on-call and a 7-day shift rota (including nights and sleep-ins)
About You
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated leader with experience in children’s residential care.
You will:
Hold a Level 3 in Children’s Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Either hold or be committed to completing a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management
Have a minimum of two years’ experience working in social care
Be skilled in compiling risk assessments and weekly/monthly reports
Have knowledge of legislation and Ofsted requirements
Understand Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards
Have experience leading and motivating a staff team
Be passionate about supporting young people who may display behaviours that challenge
Be flexible and willing to go the extra mile
Demonstrate a calm, safe response in challenging situations
