An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Deputy Manager to join a well-established children’s residential home in Peterborough supporting young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a stable and successful home, working alongside an established staff team and supporting a positive, engaging group of children. You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the service, contributing to the continued development and high standards of care within the home.
The role:
- Maintain a strong and current understanding of relevant legislation and guidance, including Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and the Children’s Act, ensuring the service consistently operates within these frameworks.
- Contribute to building and maintaining positive relationships with young people, their families, and external professionals, working collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
- Work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure all young people have clear, person-centred placement plans in place, with regular reviews and ongoing assessments to meet their evolving needs.
- Work alongside the Registered Manager to action and monitor recommendations from inspections and Regulation 44 visits.
- Contribute to ensuring the home is well-maintained, clean, and provides a comfortable, homely setting for young people.”
About you:
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent.
- At least two years’ experience relevant to residential care within the last five years.
- At least one year of experience supervising and managing professional staff.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Children Homes regulation including Quality Standards 2015, The Children’s Homes (Amendment) Regulations 2011, Care Standards Act 2000, Ofsted and related legislation, and policies and procedures.
