The Role
We are on the lookout for an OFSTED Registered Manager who can deliver outstanding outcomes for children and young people. Your role will be on a dual-registration basis across two solo homes in close proximity to each other.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the homes, leading and developing your team, and creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. This role plays a key part in safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the children’s home in line with regulatory and organisational standards
- Leading and embedding Therapeutic Parenting approaches, including the PACE model
- Safeguarding children and young people and promoting a safe and supportive environment
- Leading, supervising, and developing staff through regular supervision, appraisal, and training
- Ensuring high-quality care planning, risk assessment, and outcome-focused interventions
- Promoting positive relationships with families, communities, and multi-agency partners
- Preparing the home for inspections and ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g. Ofsted)
- Managing occupancy levels and supporting referral and placement processes
- Overseeing rota planning to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Maintaining accurate records and monitoring systems to ensure quality standards are met
- Managing budgets and home finances, including liaison with HR and payroll
- Leading on investigations, performance management, and addressing poor practice
- Driving service development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
About You
You will be an experienced leader within children’s residential care, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks.
You will also have:
- At least two years’ experience within children’s residential care (within the last five years), including one year in a supervisory or management role
- A relevant qualification (Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent), with a willingness to work towards Level 5 Leadership and Management
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Experience managing staff performance, supervision, and development
- Confidence in managing safeguarding concerns and complex behaviours
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- The ability to build trusting relationships and create a safe, nurturing environment
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and email
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- A resilient, proactive, and solution-focused approach
