About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Fostering Team Manager to lead and inspire a team of Supervising Social Workers, driving high-quality, therapeutic care for children and young people. This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Work professional who is committed to making a meaningful difference and shaping positive outcomes.
As a Fostering Team Manager, you will play a key leadership role in delivering the organisation’s strategic objectives, working closely with the Head of Fostering to ensure operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong financial performance while maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding.
You will lead, motivate, and support a team of reflective and creative practitioners, ensuring that children and young people receive outstanding care and are supported to reach their full potential. The role involves embedding high-quality, evidence-based practice, ensuring compliance with fostering regulations and safeguarding standards, and maintaining consistent service delivery.
You will also be responsible for achieving regional targets, including placement growth and carer recruitment and retention, while ensuring that the needs of children, young people, and foster carers remain central to all decision-making. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key local authority partners and stakeholders will be an essential part of the role.
This is a hybrid role based out of the Worcester office, with regional and occasional national travel required to support teams and wider organisational collaboration.
About You
You will be a confident and dynamic leader with a passion for developing people and delivering outstanding fostering services. You will hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England (or equivalent).
You will have strong experience within fostering, alongside a proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively. A thorough understanding of safeguarding, fostering regulations, and childcare legislation is essential.
You will be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with local authorities and other partners. You will be organised, proactive, and committed to driving continuous improvement while supporting your team to thrive.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car are required for this role.
