This position, based in Worcester, offers the chance to lead a dedicated team of operations managers, social workers, and support staff, ensuring that children and young people in care achieve their full potential.
The Role:
As Head of Fostering, the successful candidate will be responsible for the West region, working closely with the Assistant Director of Fostering.
Key responsibilities include:
– Leading and supporting a team of social workers, focusing on operational excellence and financial performance.
– Providing training and development to ensure a high-performing region.
– Delivering the organisational business plan effectively.
– Managing in a therapeutic and supportive manner, fostering the potential and abilities of the team.
About You:
Candidates must hold a relevant Social Work Degree and possess the following:
– A valid driving licence and access to a car for travel to support the team and attend meetings nationally.
– Experience working towards KPIs focused on growth, carer recruitment, and retention.
– A strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices, ensuring they are fully embedded across the region.
Key Information:
– A competitive salary of £57,750 – £68,250, depending on experience and qualifications.
– Hybrid working pattern of 2-3 days in the office.
– Foster cares covering Telford, Cannock, Wolverhampton, Somerset & Bristol.
– Current Ofsted Rating of “good”
