Hamptons are working with a Northern Local Authority in the search for their next interim Head of SEND.

The Role: Head of SEND

The local authority is committed to fostering an inclusive culture, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive.

As Head of SEND, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of SEND services. 
This includes developing and implementing policies, managing budgets, and leading a dedicated team of professionals. 
The role requires a deep understanding of SEND legislation and best practices, as well as the ability to collaborate with schools, parents, and other stakeholders.

About You:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
– A strong background in SEND, with substantial experience in a leadership role within an educational or local authority setting.
– In-depth knowledge of SEND legislation, policies, and procedures.
– Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
– Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
– A commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
