The role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a stable team and authority who are currently rated 'Good' by OFSTED.
You will support the Executive Director and Director by taking direct strategic responsibility for Children & Families Services. You will communicate our vision and provide strategic direction to deliver Warwickshire’s Council Plan.
The Head of Service for Early Support & Children with Disabilities will be responsible for Early Support, Domestic Abuse, Different Futures, Children with Disabilities and Headteacher Coach. The postholder will hold strategic responsibility for early support, also known as early help.
You will lead our integrated multi-agency restorative workforce, ensuring there is effective collaboration with one another and with children, young people and their families. Focussed upon delivery of improved outcomes for children and young people. You will promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence. Influence and inspire senior stakeholders, including government departments and community groups. Drive effective early and family help, child protection and safeguarding systems, ensuring professional leadership and practice. Managing budgets and resources efficiently to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.
The role will also take strategic lead working closely with commissioners for our Children & Family Centres. The postholder will lead the Children With Disabilities Team, working closely with colleagues across SEND to ensure there are effective children’s social statutory responsibilities are met. Working closely with colleagues within the ICB, Education and across the council with transitions colleagues. To ensure early, consistent and high quality help, support, protection and care for children with disabilities.
The post holder will hold strategic responsibility for links with the health sector, particularly in regard to transforming care and continuing care. Linking strategically with the Integrated Care Board (ICB), commissioners, public health and providers on behalf of the whole Children & Families Service. The role will lead domestic abuse team, who work within Family Help teams in a matrix management approach.
The main office bases are Warwick and Nuneaton. Applicants must be open to hybrid working, with 2 to 3 days per week on site. Flexible working hours will be considered.
About You:
Essential criteria for applicants
- Social Work Qualified or an equivalent suitable qualification (early years, probation, education or social care).
- Comprehensive understanding of Early Support, Child Protection, Children In Need, Contextual Safeguarding and Children in Care. Including comprehensive knowledge of legislative and operational frameworks.
- Robust multi agency quality assurance experience, including leading analysis and addressing performance. Leading continued improvement and change. Focussing on the outcomes achieved for children.
- Senior leadership experience of multi-agency teams, supervision and matrix arrangements.
What's On Offer: A salary of £78,509 – £86,554 plus benefits package
