We are proud to partner with a well-established Independent Fostering Agency in the search for a motivated and aspirational Locum Supervising Social Worker to join their dedicated team covering the Swindon/Bristol region. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic, therapeutic organisation that supports children who have experienced significant trauma.
The Role
As a Locum Supervising Social Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Providing professional supervision, support, advice, and guidance to up to 13 foster families located in Swindon and Bristol.
Conducting regular visits, assessments, and reviews to ensure foster carers deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
Collaborating with multi-agency teams including local authorities, schools, and healthcare providers to promote the wellbeing and development of children and young people.
Participating in an out-of-hours on-call rota to offer consistent, wrap-around support to foster carers.
Preparing clear and concise records and reports, maintaining compliance with fostering regulations and best practice.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of fostering services and celebrating the progress and achievements of carers and children.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
A recognised qualification in Social Work (BA, MA, or DipSW).
Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience working within fostering or children’s social care (e.g. LAC teams).
Strong understanding of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and therapeutic care.
The ability to make reflective, evidence-based assessments.
A compassionate, collaborative, and child-centred approach.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
