Managing Director – Children’s Residential Care

We are working in partnership with an emerging children’s residential care provider with ambitious plans to establish and grow a strong presence across the East Midlands. Supported by an experienced and credible leadership board, this is a unique opportunity for a senior leader to play a pivotal role in developing a values-driven organisation from the very beginning.

The Role

As Managing Director, you will lead the organisation through its initial launch phase and into sustained growth. You will have overall responsibility for setting direction, embedding high standards of care, and creating the operational and leadership foundations required for long-term success. This position suits a commercially aware children’s care leader who enjoys building services, shaping culture, and driving performance.

Key responsibilities include:

Setting and delivering the strategic direction and expansion plans across the East Midlands
Establishing strong governance, quality assurance, and safeguarding frameworks
Recruiting, developing, and leading a capable senior management team
Taking accountability for operational performance, compliance, and financial outcomes
Acting as a key link between the board, commissioners, regulators, and wider stakeholders
Promoting a child-centred culture where positive outcomes and quality care are paramount

About You

The successful candidate will bring:
Substantial leadership experience within children’s residential services
A demonstrable history of raising standards and supporting service growth
Strong working knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements
Strategic thinking combined with the ability to deliver at an operational level
Excellent leadership presence, communication skills, and stakeholder management ability
A clear commitment to improving the lives and outcomes of children and young people
