A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional Operations Manager to join a growing children’s residential care organisation dedicated to providing high-quality, nurturing homes for children and young people. As the organisation continues to open new services, we are seeking a dynamic leader who can oversee multiple homes, drive performance, and uphold exceptional standards of care.

This role is ideal for a strategic, people-focused leader with a passion for achieving excellence and creating environments where children feel safe, supported, and truly at home.

The Role: Regional Operations Manager

  • Provide leadership, oversight, and operational management for multiple registered children’s homes.

  • Ensure homes consistently deliver safe, nurturing, and child-centred environments aligned with regulatory requirements and therapeutic principles.

  • Support Registered Managers through effective delegation, coaching, performance management, and professional development.

  • Maintain exceptional standards across all services, working towards achieving and sustaining Good and Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.

  • Oversee quality assurance, compliance, audits, and regulatory readiness across the region.

  • Work collaboratively with a wider team of Regional Managers and senior leaders to ensure consistent service excellence.

  • Lead on incident management, safeguarding oversight, and escalation processes to ensure robust, safe practice.

  • Contribute strategically to organisational growth, including supporting the setup and mobilisation of new homes.

  • Build strong internal relationships and work effectively with Finance, HR, Maintenance, Training, Recruitment, IT, and other back-office support teams.

  • Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across all services.

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in children’s residential care.

  • At least 2 years’ experience managing managers (e.g., Registered Managers).

  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulatory frameworks, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.

  • A track record of achieving “Good” or “Outstanding” Ofsted ratings.

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams across multiple sites.

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

  • A child-centred approach with a commitment to safeguarding and quality care.

Desirable:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete with organisational support).

What’s On Offer

  • Competitive salary with generous car allowance.

  • Range of performance-related bonuses.

  • Central office and work-from-home flexibility.

  • Exceptional internal support from Finance, HR, Training, Recruitment, Commercial, and Maintenance teams.

  • Access to high-quality training and the opportunity to work towards a Level 7 qualification.

  • Supportive, knowledgeable senior leadership — including Directors and Regional Managers with extensive frontline residential experience.

  • A collaborative, inclusive team culture built on shared values and child-centred practice.
