Regional/Registered Manager
The Role
Our client is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Regional/Registered Manager to lead and oversee multiple fostering services within the Midlands region. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and service delivery across the region.
You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and grow the fostering service, ensuring strong outcomes for children and young people placed with their foster carers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working in close liaison with the Operations Director, Deputy Operations Director, and Heads of Service to develop the fostering service across the region
- Managing the fostering service to ensure financial viability and alignment with organisational aims and objectives as set out in the Statement of Purpose
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies while embedding Fusion’s core values and best practice standards
- Monitoring Schedule 6 & 7 requirements under the Fostering Services Regulations 2011
- Leading and driving safeguarding practice across the region, including management of allegations and investigations, and reporting to Ofsted/LADO as required
- Producing monthly regional performance reports and annual reports for Fostering Panel
- Ensuring timely and high-quality submissions to Ofsted and other external bodies
- Keeping up to date with legislation, policy, guidance, and research to continuously improve practice
- Maintaining a child-centred approach in all decision-making, promoting the welfare and voice of children and young people
- Participating in the managers’ on-call rota
This is a hybrid role, based in the Midlands regional office (Walsall), combining office, remote, and regional travel.
About You
You will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England and able to meet Ofsted requirements for a Registered Manager under the Fostering Services Regulations 2011.
You will also bring:
- A recognised social work qualification
- At least two years’ experience managing fostering services within the last five years
- Proven leadership and staff management experience, including recruitment, supervision, performance management, and disciplinary processes
- Strong ability to maintain compliance standards and achieve KPI targets
- Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills
- Experience in budgeting, financial oversight, and service performance management
- Ability to manage day-to-day operations of a fostering service
- Experience in negotiating and making placements with Local Authorities
- Willingness to undertake or already hold NVQ Level 5 in Leadership (or equivalent)
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to remain calm, make sound judgements, and prioritise effectively under pressure
- Strong report writing and analytical skills, with experience producing monthly and annual reports
