We are currently looking for a residential childcare managerial professional join my well-established clients’ team as a Children’s Home Registered Manager to oversee a 4 bed home and help shape the lives of young people in need, alongside a supportive, committed team and company.
Role Overview:
The Registered Manager needs to hold accountability and overall responsibility for the day to day management of the home, ensuring a high quality of care is delivered at all times and that the home is being ran with the young people’s wellbeing and safeguarding at the forefront. You will be responsible for ensuring the home actively promotes the rights of young people as individuals and that the home is being ran in correspondence to the correct policies and procedures.
Always lead by example and be a good leader / support for Care Workers, in conjunction with relevant legislation and guidance to ensure that good outcomes are achieved for young people within the home to meet their physical, psychological, emotional & social development. To contribute to the overall ethos, values and aims of organisation.
About you:
- Full UK Driving License
- Relevant qualifications in social care, specialising in children and young people. E.g. Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 NVQs
- Enthusiastic relationship builder, motivator within the workplace
- Able to operate with integrity at all times, in regards to staff and the young people
- Resilient even when working within challenging environments / situations, and with complex behaviours.
Experience:
- Experience working with children and young people, in a childcare focussed residential setting.
- Committed to the wellbeing of young people and the ability to apply this to the smooth running of the home
- Previous successful experience in a managerial role such as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager role.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, especially with children and young people and with your colleagues
- Be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Children’s Home legislation and inspection requirements for OFSTED and a thorough knowledge of child protection/safeguarding procedures and protocols.
- A positive, can-do, warming demeanour within the work place.
