The Role
Our client, is seeking a Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee the safe and effective operation of their 3-bed children’s home, rated Good by Ofsted. This senior role requires strong leadership, professional judgement, and a commitment to high-quality care.
You will manage the day-to-day running of the home, including staffing, budgets, resources, and the building’s maintenance. As Registered Manager, you will ensure children and young people receive nurturing care in line with company policies, regulatory standards, and safeguarding requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a staff team, providing supervision, training, appraisals, and development opportunities.
- Ensuring safeguarding, child protection, and Designated Safeguarding Lead responsibilities are effectively carried out.
- Developing and implementing placement plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management plans.
- Managing admissions, discharges, and key communications with external agencies (Local Authorities, health professionals, police, etc.).
- Maintaining compliance with legislation including Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and accurate record-keeping.
- Managing budgets, rotas, staffing levels, and overall home operations.
- Promoting Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE) principles to provide attachment security and positive relationships for children.
About You
You are a professional, committed individual with strong leadership skills and a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities. You can build positive relationships with children and staff, respond effectively to challenges, and maintain high standards of care and compliance.
Essential knowledge and skills:
- Working knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and associated quality standards.
- Ability to lead staff teams, manage budgets, and maintain accurate records.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
What’s on Offer
- Basic salary up to £55,000
- Bonus structure based on occupancy, retention, Ofsted rating, and registration (typically £4,500 – £9,500)
- 28 days annual leave (inclusive)
