Registered Manager opportunity for a childcare focussed individual in Manchester…

We are currently looking for an experienced and compassionate childcare managerial professional join my well established clients team as a Registered Manager in one of their 5 good-outstanding OFSTED rated homes. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, childcare centred individual to run a 2 bed EBD focussed home and help shape the lives of young people in need, alongside a strong committed team. This is a great opportunity for a Registered Manager looking for a change or a Deputy Manager looking to take that step up in a supportive environment.

The Role:

  • The Registered Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, the staff team and ensuring that the needs of the young people are always met, by ensuring that the children and young people are in safe and comfortable environment.
  • Responsible for the effective development and delivery of high-quality residential services to children young people and their families which improve outcomes.
  • Lead and manage the staff team, ensuring that team members work effectively with children, young people, families and all internal and partner agency staff.
  • Carry out statutory duties as determined, principally in relevant childcare legislation, children’s homes regulations and standards.
  • Ensure that all services are planned and delivered in a way that maximises participation and reflects children’s rights in relation to services being provided.

About you
Qualifications:

  • Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
  • Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or working towards, the Company will support the successful candidate in achieving this if needs be)
  • Full UK Driving License and own vehicle

Experience

  • Experience working with children and young people, in a childcare focussed residential setting.
  • Committed to the wellbeing of young people and the ability to apply this to the smooth running of the home
  • Previous successful experience in a managerial role such as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager role.
  • Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and the ability to apply this to the running and day to day of the home.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, especially with children and young people and with your colleagues
  • Thorough understanding of: The Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015, Children Act 2004, Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation, Working Together to Safeguard Children, The Homes Statement of Purpose, The Code of Conduct and Behaviour and relevant policies.
  • A positive, can-do, warming demeanour within the work place.
