We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to join our outstanding Residential Care team in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. This pivotal role involves overseeing a 3-bed children’s home, providing high-quality care and support for young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and personal development of the children and young people in our care, while leading your team to continuously improve service delivery and care standards.
The Role:
As the Registered Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing all aspects of the children’s home operation, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
Overseeing the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of staff, creating a positive, motivated, and high-performing team culture.
Ensuring the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of the young people in care while fostering a nurturing and supportive environment.
Managing the home’s budget, staff rotas, and operational tasks to ensure resources are used effectively and that care services align with the needs of the children.
Ensuring that care services meet Ofsted standards, Children’s Homes Quality Standards, and all relevant legislative requirements.
Leading safeguarding procedures and risk management processes, ensuring all concerns are acted upon swiftly and appropriately.
Collaborating with external professionals such as social workers, healthcare providers, and educators to ensure holistic support for each child.
Driving continuous improvement in care standards and operational efficiency, actively contributing to team development through regular supervision and appraisals.
About You:
To thrive in this role, you should have:
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent (or be working towards it).
A proven track record of managing a team within a residential childcare setting, ideally within a children’s home.
Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding policies, and relevant childcare legislation.
A deep passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young people, particularly those facing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team while maintaining high standards of care.
The ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for the young people in your care.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
