We are proud to be supporting a high-quality residential care provider seeking a resilient, skilled and confident leader to take ownership of a busy, dynamic children’s home. This role would suit an established Registered Manager with strong experience in complex EBD, LD and high-risk environments, especially those who have successfully led services through recovery and improvement.

Role Overview:

  • Lead and manage a registered children’s home, ensuring the highest standards of care
  • Provide strong, confident leadership supporting high-risk young people with complex needs
  • Drive improvement and recovery following Ofsted compliance actions
  • Oversee care planning, risk management, behaviour support and multi-agency collaboration
  • Manage staffing, rotas, supervisions, performance and development
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding expectations
  • Oversee reporting, notifications, audits and electronic recording systems
  • Promote a resilient, positive team culture grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice

Person Specification:
You will be an experienced leader with at least 5 years in residential childcare, including 3+ years at senior level, having managed EBD and LD homes, including services in recovery. You will bring strong safeguarding knowledge, advanced IT skills, experience managing challenging behaviour and high-risk young people, and proven competence in supervision, performance management, disciplinaries and investigations. You will hold (or be equivalent to) QCF Level 3/4, QCF Level 5 Leadership & Management, Level 3 Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment training. You will have a thorough understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, trauma-informed practice, child development, attachment, legislative frameworks (HASAW, MCA, DOLS, ECHR) and assessment tools. Personally, you will be emotionally resilient, calm under pressure, flexible, driven, reflective, a strong team player and hold a full UK driving licence.
