Are you an experienced Residential Children’s Home Manager with a passion for trauma-informed, therapeutic care?
We are proud to be working in partnership with a values-driven, child-centred provider dedicated to delivering warm, nurturing and PACE-informed residential care for children and young people with complex needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a children’s home where relationships, emotional safety and high-quality care are at the heart of everything you do. You will play a pivotal role in creating a therapeutic environment, supporting young people to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential, while leading and developing a committed residential team.

Role Overview:

  • Provide strong, compassionate leadership and day-to-day operational management of the children’s home
  • Create and sustain a safe, structured, family-style and therapeutic environment
  • Embed and model the PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) in all aspects of care
  • Lead, motivate and develop staff through supervision, training, appraisal and reflective practice
  • Ensure high-quality, person-centred care planning that promotes positive outcomes for each young person
  • Act as, or support, the Designated Safeguarding Lead and confidently manage safeguarding concerns
  • Build effective relationships with young people, families, social workers, therapists and other professionals
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements
  • Prepare for, manage and respond to Ofsted inspections and quality assurance processes
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels, budgets and resources effectively
  • Promote an open culture where children’s voices are heard and valued

Requirements:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting within the last 5 years
  • At least 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection and relevant legislation
  • Sound knowledge of trauma, attachment and child development
  • Practical experience of applying the PACE model in residential care
  • Confident leadership, communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends and on-call duties
