I am proud to be working with a fantastic, childcare centred organisation to help them recruit for a Registered Manager to support the opening of their brand new, 4 bed EBD focussed home. Due to the opening of an extremely successful supported accommodation service which houses 4 complex needs young people aged 16+, they are venturing to open a home which will be focussed on creating a permanent, secure, warming environment for young people aged 11-17. This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced Children’s Residential managerial professional to take ownership of a help shape the lives of young people in need, in a supportive organisation.
The Role:
- The Registered Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the home, the staff team and ensuring that the needs of the young people are always met, by ensuring that the children and young people are in safe and comfortable environment.
- Promote a therapeutic approach with both children and young people and staff. Provide opportunities for children and young people to influence the decisions that affect them and the service they receive.
- Recruit for, build, and manage the staff team, ensuring that team members work effectively with children, young people, families and all internal and partner agency staff.
- You will ensure that the home has a staff development and training programme that enables staff to be skilled and knowledgeable in order to meet the needs of young people in the home as defined by the Home’s Statement of Purpose and Function.
- Represent the Children’s Home at a strategic level and maintain compliance with regulations and standards. Ensure policies, procedures and practices up to date and in line with the law and best practice.
- Carry out statutory duties as determined, principally in relevant childcare legislation, children’s homes regulations and standards.
About you
- A strong working knowledge of EBD and behaviour that challenges
- In depth knowledge and understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations (England) 2015 and the Social Care Common Inspection Framework
- A minimum of 2 years experience of working within a Children’s Residential Home within the last 5 years
- Substantive experience in a managerial role including supervisory experience. At least 1 year of this needs to be within a Supervisory or Leadership role within a Children’s Home setting
- LEVEL 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England).
- A Full UK Driving License
- Right to Work in the UK
- Proven track record with Ofsted. Achieving a “Good” or “Outstanding” grade within your recent Ofsted Inspections
- Ability to work closely with the Responsible Individual and key individuals within the strategic partnership
What’s on offer:
Salary- £50,000 to £60,000
Welcome Bonus- £2,000 on acceptance of first referral in the new home.
Bonus: £2,000 bonus for achieving an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ grade and £1000 for a ‘Good’ grade.
Annual Leave– 36 days annual leave per year inclusive of bank holidays. Increasing to 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays after 12 months.
