Job Title: Support Worker

Salary: £30,000 per annum

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at a well-established 3-bed Ofsted-registered residential children’s home in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. Our home provides high-quality care and support to children, ensuring they lead fulfilling and meaningful lives in a safe, nurturing environment.
The Role:
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Providing person-centred care and support tailored to the individual needs of each child, promoting their independence, safety, and emotional well-being
Supporting children with daily routines including personal care, meal preparation, medication, education, and recreational activities
Encouraging and enabling children to engage in community involvement, hobbies, and therapeutic or developmental programmes
Building trusting relationships with children to foster a secure and supportive environment
Working closely with colleagues, professionals, and families to implement individual care plans
Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory and organisational requirements
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times and upholding the highest standards of care
About You:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Experience working in a care or support setting, ideally within a children’s residential environment (training will be provided for the right candidate)
A passion for improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a caring and patient attitude
The ability to work well independently and as part of a team
A willingness to undertake training and complete relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQs in Health and Social Care)
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
