Hamptons are proud to be working with an established children’s services provider who are looking to recruit for 8 Residential Childcare Workers, offering a variety of working hours from 17.5 hours to 39 hours and training and development to begin a career in children’s residential.
Role Overview:
The Residential Childcare Worker is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for the children within the home, giving them a fresh start and outlook to life. You will maintain a high quality of care at all times and support the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of the young people. Learning and working within the guidelines from the 1989 Children Act, Children’s Homes Regulations, and quality standards and any other relevant legislations.
About you:
- The willingness to learn and take onboard the development opportunities provided, for example, attaining qualifications such as your NVQ Level 3 Residential Childcare.
- Experience in a social care / childcare setting – desirable.
- The ability to understand the principles of safeguarding and Child Protection legislation, and Children’s Home Regulations.
- Effective communication skills, and the ability to keep positive on a day to day.
- Operating with the child’s needs at the forefront of what you do, and with sensitivity and emotional awareness.
- Ability to work as part of a team and use initiative.
- Ability to interpret and respond appropriately to a range of emotions and behaviours from young people.
- Satisfactory DBS.
- Desirable – Full UK Driving Licence.
