About the Role
We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and motivated Children’s Residential Support Workers to join a family-run organisation dedicated to providing safe, nurturing, and stable homes for children and young people.
This is a highly rewarding frontline role where you will act as a positive role model, supporting children to develop confidence, independence, and emotional stability. You will play a vital part in helping young people overcome challenges, build trusting relationships, and move towards brighter futures within a supportive residential environment.
Key Responsibilities
Care & Support
Act as a consistent, positive role model for children and young people
Provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and guidance
Support children with daily routines, education, hobbies, and activities
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour
Celebrate achievements and support children through challenges
Safeguarding & Wellbeing
Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people
Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns appropriately
Support children’s emotional wellbeing and resilience
Contribute to behaviour support strategies and care plans
Teamwork & Communication
Work effectively as part of a supportive staff team
Build positive relationships with colleagues, professionals, and families
Participate in handovers, meetings, and training
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Personal Development
Engage in training, supervision, and professional development
Work towards required qualifications in Residential Childcare
Demonstrate commitment to learning and career progression
About You
Essential
A genuine passion for working with children and young people
Patience, empathy, and resilience
Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
Commitment to safeguarding and putting children first
Willingness to complete (or already hold) a Level 3 or 4 Diploma/NVQ in Residential Childcare
Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
Experience working with children and young people
Previous experience in residential childcare (not essential)
Interest in progressing into senior or management roles
