Job Title: Residential Support Worker

Salary: £27,000.00 – £28,184.00 per annum + £50 per sleep-in shift

We are excited to offer a meaningful and rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and committed Residential Support Worker to join our team at a well-established children’s residential home in Kidderminster. Our homes provide high-quality, therapeutic care to children and young people, helping them build brighter, more independent futures.

The Role:

As a Residential Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

Building trusting, positive relationships with children and supporting their emotional, physical, and social development.

Supporting children with daily routines including education, appointments, hobbies, and social activities.

Promoting a safe, nurturing, and non-judgemental environment where each child feels accepted and valued.

Managing household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and shopping to maintain a homely environment.

Assisting with administrative tasks including care planning, timetables, and report writing.

Participating in regular training and development, including a comprehensive Skills to Care induction programme.

Ensuring safeguarding principles are upheld at all times and contributing to the well-being and safety of each child.

About You:

To excel in this role, you should have:

A caring, empathetic, and resilient nature, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

A valid manual driving licence (essential).

Aged 22 or over (to meet Ofsted regulations).

The ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.

Previous experience in a care or youth setting is desirable but not essential – full training is provided.

Competitive salary: £27,000.00 – £28,184.00 per year + £50 per sleep-in.

224 hours of annual leave, rising to 248 hours with service.
