Responsible Individual opportunity for a childcare focussed individual in Ashford…
We are currently looking for an experienced Children’s Residential professional join my well-established clients team as a Responsible Individual, on a part time basis – 20 hours a week. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, business minded and childcare centred individual to be a significant part of the senior management team responsible for the smooth running of the homes.

The Role:

  • Ensure all legal and regulatory responsibilities for operating the home are fully met.
  • Provide effective oversight, supervision, and professional challenge to the registered manager.
  • Promote a child-centered, outcome-focused culture across the home
  • Collaborating closely with the Registered Managers and providing direct reports to the Directors.
  • Ensure that the Registered Manager is appropriately supported, supervised and developed in their role.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture based on safeguarding trauma informed and therapeutic care principles
  • Support the recruitment, training and development of the staff team, ensuring high quality care and compliance with safer recruitment standards.
  • Encouraging and supporting the professional development of staff by completing and identifying training and staff development needs to ensure objectives are met.
  • Ensure development plans are in place where appropriate.

About you:
 

  • Management qualification (e.g., Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare).
  • Proven track record in senior leadership within children’s residential care.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children’s Home Regulations 2023, and Quality Standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing children’s home settings.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, motivate, and hold others accountable.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
