We are currently looking for an experienced and compassionate childcare managerial professional join my well-established clients team as a Responsible Individual, to oversee 3 of their 5 good-outstanding OFSTED rated, EBD focussed homes. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, business minded and childcare centred individual to be a significant part of the senior management team responsible for the smooth running of the homes.
The Role:
- Working alongside the Directors and Registered Managers, ensuring all homes are supported and effectively managed, whilst also filling gaps in management absences.
- You will act on behalf of the organisation to ensure that all legal responsibilities associated with the development of new services are met.
- Overseeing 3 homes, and be the reporting manager for 3 Registered Managers.
- You will act on behalf of the organisation to ensure that all legal responsibilities associated with the development of new services are met, continue to develop, and establish homes through working with existing partners and building links with other partner agencies as appropriate.
- Ensure all residential services are safe, effective and meet OFSTED standards and that the young people have a positive environment and support network.
- Provide a comprehensive placement service through managing admissions to the children’s homes in partnership with Registered managers/Local Authorities and external agencies.
- Be responsible for monitoring homes regularly to ensure that they fulfil the Statement of Purpose and are managed in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure homes are compliant with the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, including the monitoring of Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reports.
About you
Qualifications:
- Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
- Level 5 in Leadership and Management
- Full UK Driving License and own vehicle
Experience:
- Experience working with children and young people, in a childcare focussed residential setting.
- Committed to the wellbeing of young people and the ability to apply this to the smooth running of all homes.
- Proven successful experience within a senior management role, directly within Children’s Residential Services.
- Previous successful experience in a managerial role such as a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager role.
- Knowledge of OFSTED regulations and the ability to apply this to the running and day to day of the home.
- Flexibility to visit homes and head office weekly.
- Strong ability to juggle and manage own workload, and ensure duties are being carried out to a high standard.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, especially with children and young people and with your colleagues.
- Thorough understanding of: The Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, including the monitoring of Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 reports.
- A positive, can-do, warming demeanour within the work place.
