We’re looking for a passionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join our client’s specialist school, helping to deliver personalised education and life-changing outcomes for young people with complex needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, engaging learning through a meaningful and individualised curriculum designed to support and challenge every student. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll help create a supportive and structured learning environment that enables students to thrive and prepare for adult life.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering tailored, high-quality learning for students with complex needs

  • Creating an engaging, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

  • Working collaboratively with class leaders, therapists, and other professionals

  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the curriculum

  • Leading and managing support staff within the classroom

  • Assessing, recording, and reporting on student progress

  • Supporting students with additional needs, which may include physical intervention or personal care routines

About You

We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about supporting students with special educational needs.

You will:

  • Hold a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification (essential)

  • Have a strong understanding of Teacher Standards and classroom expectations

  • Have experience or knowledge of SEN and sensory-led curriculums

  • Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Demonstrate strong assessment, recording, and reporting skills

  • Have the ability to lead and support other adults in the classroom

  • Be committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people

About the Client

Our client is an IQM-awarded, independent specialist day school providing a highly personalised learning environment for students aged 6 to 19 with a wide range of complex needs.

The school supports learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), Moderate Learning Disabilities (MLD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD), Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and other associated difficulties. Many students also have medical needs and sensory or physical impairments.

Their approach focuses on individualised support and therapeutic collaboration, helping students manage sensory overload, anxiety, low self-esteem, and challenges with transitions that may impact behaviour. With specialist facilities and a strong multidisciplinary team, the school creates a nurturing environment where students can build confidence, independence, and life skills for the future.
