The Role:
We are seeking a committed and experienced SEND Tribunal and Mediation Officer to join a dedicated team within the local authority sector. This role involves managing and representing the local authority in SEND tribunals and mediations, ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks and advocating for appropriate outcomes. The successful candidate will have recent, current experience in tribunal procedures and representation, working remotely with a professional and proactive approach. Key responsibilities include preparing cases, providing expert advice, and advocating effectively to support the authority's position in mediation and tribunal settings.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable, recent experience in SEND tribunal procedures, particularly in representing local authorities. You should possess extensive knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice in tribunals and mediations, along with excellent communication and advocacy skills. Personal attributes include being highly organised, detail-oriented, resilient, and able to work independently in a remote setting. A background in social services or a related field with direct tribunal experience is essential.
What’s On Offer:
The day rate is yet to be confirmed, with remote working and an initial 6 month contract.

The client is a public sector organisation dedicated to supporting Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND). They focus on delivering high-quality social services and education support for children and young people, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and fostering inclusive environments.
