Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker
Location: Derby
Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum (including sleep-ins)
Sector: Residential Care – Children’s Services

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established 3-bed children’s home in Derby, supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people within a nurturing, supportive, and child-centred environment.

The Role:

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:

Lead shifts and support the daily care and development of children and young people.

Act as a positive role model and provide guidance to the Residential Support Worker team.

Support the delivery of individual care plans and ensure the unique needs of each child are met.

Promote the education, well-being, and independence of the young people in your care.

Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, risk assessments, care plans, and regulatory standards.

Support children to engage in community activities, hobbies, and life skills.

Maintain accurate records including daily logs, incident reports, and safeguarding documentation.

Assist in the supervision, mentoring, and development of the care team.

Contribute to creating a safe, caring, and high-quality home environment in line with Ofsted regulations.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Experience working in children’s residential care, including managing challenging behaviours.

Experience leading shifts or supervising staff (desirable).

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.

A genuine passion for improving the lives of children and young people.

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

Emotional resilience, flexibility, and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly.

A full UK driving licence (minimum of 2 years driving experience if under 25).

The ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and regular sleep-ins.
