We are currently recruiting 4 experienced and compassionate Residential Childcare professionals to join my well-established client’s team as Senior Residential Support Workers in one of their Good OFSTED-rated homes based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for committed and values-driven Seniors to play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of a small, homely service supporting two young people with learning disabilities. You will be part of a supportive leadership team, helping to create a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment where young people can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.

The Role:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will lead by example and actively promote the rights, wellbeing and safeguarding of young people in your care. You will support the management of the home, provide consistent and high-quality care, and ensure a warm, structured and stable environment.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as shift lead and supporting staff on shift
  • Promoting safeguarding and positive behaviour management at all times
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with young people
  • Supporting care planning, reviews and key work
  • Working within a therapeutic parenting model
  • Supporting young people with education, daily routines and independence
  • Liaising with families, social workers and external professionals
  • Completing reports, records and administrative duties
  • Deputising for the Manager/Deputy when required

About You:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) – preferred, or happy to work towards once started role
  • Previous experience in a Senior or leadership role within residential childcare
  • Experience supporting young people with complex needs and/or LD
  • Good knowledge of OFSTED regulations and relevant childcare legislation
  • A positive, proactive and non-judgemental approach to care
  • Able to motivate, support and guide a staff team
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle – desirable
