Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join a nurturing 5-bed children’s home in Loughborough, supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
You will play a vital role in providing a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive and achieve positive outcomes. This role offers a clear pathway into management with excellent training and development opportunities.
The Role:
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and supervising shifts, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the home.
Supporting and mentoring Residential Support Workers to maintain high standards of care.
Building trusting, positive relationships with young people to promote their emotional, social, and educational development.
Supporting the management team with rotas, risk assessments, placement plans, and safeguarding procedures.
Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed in line with Ofsted requirements.
Working collaboratively with external professionals, including social workers and education providers, to deliver holistic care.
Promoting life skills, independence, and personal achievement for all young people.
Leading by example to create a positive, resilient, and child-centred team culture.
About You:
To excel in this role, you should have:
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children’s and Young People’s Workforce (Residential Childcare).
Minimum of 2 years' experience in residential childcare, working with young people with EBD.
A full UK manual driving licence.
Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations, and childcare legislation.
The ability to confidently lead a team and positively influence others.
A passion for making a lasting difference in young people’s lives.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
