About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to help transform the lives of young people. In this vital role, you will provide practical, emotional and developmental support, acting as a positive role model and ensuring that each young person feels safe, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

You will work within a supportive leadership structure and will play an important part in guiding colleagues, contributing to team development, and ensuring high-quality care in line with the Children Act 1989, Children’s Home Regulations (2015), and all relevant safeguarding legislation.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people. You will bring warmth, resilience, and a commitment to providing consistent, nurturing support.

Essential Requirements:

  • QCF Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People

  • At least 1 year’s experience working in a children’s residential setting

  • Experience supervising staff and/or running shifts

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children’s Home Regulations, and relevant legislation

  • Excellent communication, recording and organisational skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships and demonstrate unconditional positive regard

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins

Desirable:

  • Diploma in Social Work or Post-Qualifying Award

  • Diploma Assessor qualification

  • Knowledge of children’s rights

  • Time management and computer literacy skills

  • Creative approach to problem-solving
