About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to help transform the lives of young people. In this vital role, you will provide practical, emotional and developmental support, acting as a positive role model and ensuring that each young person feels safe, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
You will work within a supportive leadership structure and will play an important part in guiding colleagues, contributing to team development, and ensuring high-quality care in line with the Children Act 1989, Children’s Home Regulations (2015), and all relevant safeguarding legislation.
About You
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and young people. You will bring warmth, resilience, and a commitment to providing consistent, nurturing support.
Essential Requirements:
QCF Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People
At least 1 year’s experience working in a children’s residential setting
Experience supervising staff and/or running shifts
Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children’s Home Regulations, and relevant legislation
Excellent communication, recording and organisational skills
Ability to build positive relationships and demonstrate unconditional positive regard
Full UK driving licence
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
Desirable:
Diploma in Social Work or Post-Qualifying Award
Diploma Assessor qualification
Knowledge of children’s rights
Time management and computer literacy skills
Creative approach to problem-solving
