We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join a newly established residential children’s home in Edgware. This home will provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children with Emotional and Behavioral Difficulties (EBD), especially those who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Working alongside a committed team and visionary directors, you will play a key role in transforming the lives of young people and creating a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment for their growth and development.

The Role: Senior Support Worker

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting the care of children and young people with EBD, assisting in day-to-day operations and ensuring that a high standard of care is maintained. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing high-quality, person-centered care and support to children and young people in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment.
Leading and supervising a team of care staff to ensure effective and consistent care practices are followed.
Supporting the emotional, social, and physical needs of the children, helping them to overcome behavioral challenges and thrive.
Building positive, supportive relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed and that all care is in line with National Standards and Children’s Home Regulations.
Promoting an emotionally supportive environment, empowering children to develop new coping mechanisms and life skills.
Helping to create and implement care plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
Acting as a role model for the team, providing guidance, supervision, and support in challenging situations.
Assisting with the overall development of the home, ensuring continuous improvement and high-quality care.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have:

Previous experience in a children’s residential setting, ideally in a senior support role, with a passion for working with children who have emotional and behavioral difficulties.
NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People (or equivalent qualification).
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of care staff effectively.
A patient, compassionate, and positive approach to managing challenging behaviors, with a focus on creating a nurturing environment.
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to implement them effectively.
A genuine commitment to promoting the well-being and development of children, helping them to overcome challenges and succeed.
The ability to manage complex care needs and build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals.
