The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Service/Area Manager to oversee the operational and clinical management of services across designated locations. This is a key strategic leadership position, responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strong team performance.
You will work collaboratively with regional and senior teams to manage service development, performance, and culture. This role will suit someone who thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment and is passionate about empowering multidisciplinary teams to deliver life-enhancing care.
About You:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Service/Area Manager who is:
Experienced in managing multi-site care settings or complex healthcare services
A strong operational leader with a proven ability to drive performance, manage change, and lead teams effectively
Able to meet full regulatory compliance in line with CQC or equivalent frameworks
Commercially astute with experience in budget setting, cost control, and business development
A confident communicator with the ability to liaise professionally with commissioners, referrers, service users, families, and regulatory partners
Competent in handling HR processes including recruitment, training, performance management, and team development
Skilled in promoting customer responsiveness and service quality across all stakeholder groups
NMC Registered (desirable but not essential)

Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional leadership, ‘hands-on’ support, and clear direction to all teams across services
Line manage senior and clinical managers, ensuring robust performance, development, and accountability structures are in place
Oversee full budget management (capital and revenue) for designated services
Ensure safe and legal employment practices, including induction, training, and compliance with employment legislation
Drive service improvement through audits, performance metrics, and quality assurance tools
Lead the development and implementation of annual business development plans and local marketing strategies
Represent the organisation at external events and build strong relationships with commissioners and referrers
Ensure all services are compliant with health, safety, and safeguarding legislation
Oversee the maintenance of high-quality environments and safe facilities (including vehicles and equipment)
Champion resident empowerment and person-centred planning, ensuring engagement in educational, vocational, and lifestyle activities
Ensure professional review processes and documentation meet internal and external standards
Be responsible for on-call systems and out-of-hours operational support
Lead investigations, disciplinary processes, and support with internal reviews as required
Maintain effective reporting and risk management practices across services
Personal Development & Governance:
Engage in regular supervision and support with your Regional/Divisional Manager
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social care, regulatory changes, and leadership best practices
Participate in internal and external learning, conferences, and professional development events
Ensure personal and team compliance with organisational policies, including health & safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality
