If you’re passionate about fostering, value meaningful relationships, and want the freedom to make a real impact, this could be the role for you.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Supervising Social Worker to support foster carers and help create positive, lasting outcomes for children and young people. This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker who wants a genuine voice, manageable caseloads, and the chance to influence real change.
As a Supervising Social Worker, you will work closely with foster carers to ensure they are supported, empowered, and equipped to provide high-quality, therapeutic care. You will play a key role in safeguarding children, promoting their welfare, and supporting carers to meet children’s emotional, developmental, health, and educational needs.
You will manage a small, manageable caseload (typically up to 13 families), building strong professional relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies. The role includes contributing to assessments, supervising and supporting carers, attending meetings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with fostering legislation, safeguarding standards, and childcare law.
This is a flexible, hybrid role covering Bristol and the surrounding areas, with some out-of-hours telephone support required as part of the service’s commitment to carers and children.
About You
You will be a friendly, approachable, and reflective Social Worker who enjoys building strong, trusting relationships. You will hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England (SWE).
You will have experience within fostering and be confident managing a caseload while supporting carers to meet the complex needs of children and young people. A strong understanding of safeguarding, fostering regulations, and childcare legislation is essential.
You will be creative in your practice, comfortable working collaboratively, and motivated by making a real difference. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are required.
