The Role
As a Supervising Social Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Providing direct support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring they receive guidance and training to meet the needs of the children in their care.
Conducting regular home visits, assessments, and reviews to maintain the highest standards of care and compliance with fostering regulations.
Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams, including local authorities, schools, and health professionals, to support positive outcomes for young people.
Participating in the out-of-hours on-call service to provide wrap-around support to foster carers.
Maintaining accurate case records and reports in line with regulatory requirements.
Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of fostering services.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
A degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience in a fostering-related social work role or within children’s social care, such as a looked-after children’s team.
A solid understanding of fostering regulations, childcare law, and safeguarding procedures.
The ability to make objective professional assessments of children and young people.
A reflective and creative approach to working with foster carers and young people, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
A valid UK driving license and access to a car.
