About the Role
As a Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting young people within a Children’s Home, providing advice, care, and stability while ensuring they are treated equally and given the same opportunities each day.
You will play a key role in safeguarding the wellbeing of young people in our care, acting as a positive role model and helping them develop life skills, structure, and confidence. The role involves building trusting relationships, encouraging positive behaviour, and supporting participation in education and daily routines.
Key duties include:
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Supporting education, personal development, and life outcomes
Building mutual trust and respectful relationships
Setting clear boundaries and modelling positive behaviour
Completing and maintaining accurate house paperwork and records
Monitoring behaviour and encouraging structured routines
Planning and delivering activities that develop life skills
Applying relevant legislation, regulations, and inspection standards
Supporting young people with finances and independent living skills
Participating in sleep-in duties and maintaining cleanliness within the home
About You

Essential skills and experience:

Previous residential children’s care experience (preferred)
Full UK driving licence
What’s on Offer
Salary of £28,000 per annum
On average 8 sleep-ins per month, paid at £55 per sleep

About the Client
Our client operates two registered Children’s Homes in Northamptonshire, providing care for up to two young people per home. The service supports children aged 8–18 who have experienced trauma, offering a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment focused on recovery and positive outcomes.
