Salary: £16.93 per hour (based on 40 hours per week) + £70.50 per sleep-in

We are excited to present an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and motivated Team Leader to join our Children’s Residential Care team in Peterborough. This role involves supporting the management team in the day-to-day running of a 2-bed EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support for young people.
As a Team Leader, you will play a vital role in promoting the safety, wellbeing, and development of the children while guiding and supporting the staff team to achieve positive outcomes.
The Role
As Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager with the effective operation of the home, ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Ofsted standards, and company policies.
Acting as a role model for staff and young people, leading by example and promoting best practice.
Leading shifts, overseeing rotas, and ensuring adequate staffing to meet the needs of the home.
Supervising, mentoring, and supporting staff to maintain a positive and nurturing environment.
Ensuring the emotional, physical, and psychological wellbeing of young people within a safe and structured setting.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed.
Working collaboratively with external professionals, including social workers, educators, and health services.
Promoting safeguarding practices and promptly escalating any concerns.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential.
Experience working in a children’s residential setting, ideally with some supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge of safeguarding, children’s legislation, and Ofsted requirements.
Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
A flexible approach to working, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
Full UK driving licence – preferred.
