Key Responsibilities:
– Support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering a safe, consistent, and high-quality residential service.
– Lead shifts, supervise support staff, and ensure all young people’s needs are met in line with their care plans.
– Promote positive outcomes for young people through engagement, structure, and supportive relationships.
– Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance, including Ofsted standards and children’s home regulations.
– Be a role model for staff and young people, leading with empathy, integrity, and professionalism.
– Support staff performance through guidance, mentoring, and regular supervision.
– Safeguard and advocate for young people at all times.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
– Experience working in children’s residential care, particularly with young people who have EBD.
– Strong leadership abilities and excellent communication skills.
– NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent); Level 4 or 5 is highly desirable or a willingness to undertake.
– Resilient, compassionate, and committed to making a difference in young people’s lives.
– Understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures.
