An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader ready to grow within a supportive provider. 

About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Team Leader to support the day-to-day running of a Children’s Home in line with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Care Standards, with a strong focus on safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. You will take the lead on shift, providing operational oversight and participating in the on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including the health and educational needs of young people.
  • Ensure the 9 Quality Care Standards are embedded and evidenced within key worker sessions and care practice.
  • Liaise effectively with internal departments and external agencies to ensure young people receive appropriate care plans, programmes, and support to aid rehabilitation and positive outcomes.
  • Coach, supervise, and develop staff to maximise performance and maintain high standards of care, practice, and professionalism.
  • Support safer staffing through involvement in recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development.
  • Promote a positive health & safety culture, ensuring compliance with company policies and external regulatory standards.
  • Provide cross-home support, assisting the Manager with shift cover where reasonably required.
  • Complete Team Leader shift checklists and ensure accurate record-keeping.

About You

  • Hold a relevant professional qualification (Social Work or QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People) or be working towards.
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory/managerial experience within a care setting.
  • At least 1 year’s experience working in residential childcare.
  • Strong leadership, safeguarding, and communication skills.

About the Client
Our client operates two registered Children’s Homes in Northamptonshire, providing care for up to two young people per home. The service supports children aged 8–18 who have experienced trauma, offering a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment focused on recovery and positive outcomes.
