We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a passionate and experienced Team Manager to join our dedicated Children’s Services team. This pivotal role involves leading a team working across all Care Leavers, ensuring young people receive high-quality pathway plans and timely support tailored to their needs. As a Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing service delivery, and working closely with key stakeholders to enhance outcomes for care-experienced young people.

The Role:

As the Team Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Leading and managing a team to ensure effective service delivery, staff supervision, and professional development.

Ensuring that care leavers, including unaccompanied young people, can access their entitlements through the Leaving Care Local Offer.

Overseeing case allocation and management, using supervision and data analysis to improve outcomes.

Ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, local policies, and best practices in care and safeguarding.

Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including district housing, DWP, Adult Social Care, Education, and Health services.

Monitoring and improving service quality through audits, performance indicators, and team evaluations.

Managing the team’s budget effectively, ensuring financial compliance and efficient use of resources.

Addressing complaints and service concerns promptly, in alignment with the Council's customer service strategy.

Driving continuous service improvements and leading change management initiatives.

About You:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

A recognised social work qualification (B.A. Hons, DipSW, CQSW) and registration with Social Work England (or be working towards it).

Experience managing a team within a children’s services or social care setting.

A strong understanding of statutory responsibilities related to care-experienced young people.

Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in service delivery.

The ability to collaborate with external professionals to provide holistic support for young people.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.

Good ICT skills to manage reports, audits, and performance monitoring.
